Class-action settlement: Deadline to file for DreamCloud mattress settlement in one day
October 22, 2023 06:00 AM
The deadline to file a claim in a lawsuit brought on by the Federal Trade Commission against DreamCloud is in one day.
The FTC began accepting claims this summer in a settlement with DreamCloud after there was an agreement to payments following a suit in which the agency accused it of falsely claiming the mattresses were “Made in the USA” but contained imported materials. The deadline to file a claim is on Monday.

The FTC first launched the lawsuit against DreamCloud in 2021 for false advertising. The federal agency said DreamCloud mattresses contained “significant imported materials, and many are wholly imported,” which contradicts the company’s branding of being “proudly made with 100% USA-made premium quality materials.” The company agreed to pay the settlement and provide refunds to affected consumers.
Those who made a purchase from DreamCloud between Dec. 9, 2018, and Jan. 29, 2019, or between May 6, 2020, and June 26, 2020, might be entitled to financial compensation. Consumers must have not received a refund yet, and their decision to purchase a product must have been swayed by the company’s claim of using “USA-made premium quality materials.”

Filers can submit a claim at secure.dreamcloudrefund.com. A claim ID is needed to file a form, which should have been sent out via email or mail by the FTC, but if you have not received such an ID, there is time to reach out by calling 844-798-0740 or emailing [email protected]. No proof of purchase is required for this settlement.
The FTC began sending payments, totaling nearly $45,000, to affected customers earlier this year. Once consumers file their claim forms and receive their checks, the FTC encourages recipients to cash their checks within 90 days. The exact payment amount has not been disclosed. The FTC said it has been contacting an additional 12,300 consumers within the last several months.
