Clock Ticking On Trump

With 2025 in the rear view, so too, are President Donald Trump’s 225 executive orders. At least 14 orders focused on education reform.

One order demands the end of “illegal discrimination” and restoration of “merit-based opportunity.” Another calls for the abolition of “radical, anti-American” indoctrination in K-12 schooling. Executive orders — even when unimpeded by the courts — have a shelf life. Trump’s successor will be fully within his powers to slash the executive orders of his predecessor to pieces. The Trump administration has just a few years to enshrine their education goals into policy capable of withstanding future administrations. Thankfully, Trump has a major card to play.
