Coca-Cola recalls almost 2,000 cases due to ‘potential foreign material’

Nearly 2,000 cans of Coca-Cola products are being recalled due to potentially containing a “foreign material.”

A majority of the cases being recalled are 12-pack cans of Sprite, which is owned by the Coca-Cola Co. Other products that are a part of this recall are 12-pack cans of Diet Coke and a few cases of Fanta, an orange-flavored soda, according to an enforcement report from the Food and Drug Administration.

The recall entails 1,557 12-pack cans of Sprite, along with 417 packs of Diet Coke cans and 14 packs of Fanta cans.

The Sprite and Fanta cans that were recalled had an expiration date of July 29 of next year; meanwhile, the Diet Coke cans were set to expire on Jan. 29.

The recall was initiated by United Packers, LLC, which is based in Alabama, on Nov. 6. Beyond Alabama, Missouri and Florida were also affected by this recall.

There are no more potentially impacted products that are still out for sale, according to reports.
