Conservative Dad’s beer founder says people have ‘had enough of the stupidity’

The founder of Conservative Dad’s Ultra Right beer, an alternative to Bud Light, said people have had enough of “the stupidity” that companies are pushing on their consumers and that it has contributed to the success of his beer.
Seth Weathers discussed how his brand recently sold $500,000 worth of beer cans featuring the mugshot of former President Donald Trump, which Weathers described as “a cultural moment.” The launch earlier this year and financial success of Ultra Right beer came after Bud Light, one of the most popular beer brands in the world, received major pushback from conservatives over a partnership it did with transgender activist and influencer Dylan Mulvaney (a biological male who identifies as a woman).
DESANTIS BEGINS TO TAKE THE GLOVES OFF AGAINST TRUMP
“I think people have kind of said, ‘You know what, I’ve had enough of the stupidity,'” Weathers said. “And so all the time, there’s all these companies that we buy products from, that hate as conservatives, that hate our values. Most of the big corporations hate our values, and they’re working against it. And so I think when Conservative Dad’s Ultra Right beer came along, people said, ‘Hey, this is a great beer. This is what I love drinking,’ and our company’s actually supporting causes that are important to conservatives.”
Of the $500,000 sold from the limited-edition mugshot cans, 10% of sales will go toward the Republican Party’s legal defense in Georgia, where Trump was indicted in August over his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Weathers said that the availability for his limited-edition cans has been extended “for another day or two” to meet demand.
Beyond donating to the Republican Party’s defense in the Peach State, Weathers also stated that his company donates to the 1776 Project, which works to “overturn woke school boards.”

The partnership between Bud Light and Mulvaney happened in late March, when Anheuser-Busch, the owner of Bud Light, sent Mulvaney a can of Bud Light featuring the activist’s face to celebrate Mulvaney’s 1-year anniversary of transitioning. Six months later, the beer company has not recovered financially, with Anheuser-Busch reporting in August a drop in revenue by almost $400 million.
Recent data in the week ending on Sept. 9 showed Bud Light with an 8.9% share of the U.S. beer market, down by 12% before the controversy. In the four weeks leading to Sept. 9, Bud Light sales declined by around 30% when compared to the same time last year, according to statistics compiled by Bump Williams Consulting.
