As if the shocking surge of mortgage interest rates under President Joe Biden weren’t bad enough, his demands for green housing technology would put another huge bill on new homeowners, according to a consumer watchdog.
An infographic from the Alliance for Consumers shows that the president’s moves to require new technology in home construction would add over $9,100 to the final bill.

From green tech ceiling fans to water heaters, the addition is at least $9,166, said the group that promises to use legal avenues to protect consumers.

The additional bill comes on top of the average $15,250 more a year home buyers face in mortgages since Biden took office. Back in 2021, when interest rates were about 3%, purchasers paid an average of $1,730 a month on mortgages. Now, for the same average $410,000 loan, the payment is about $3,000 a month.
The group sent its infographic out on X, and it showed how much new regulations will cost home buyers.
