Police said they believe Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother was abducted from her her Arizona home in the middle of the night and blood was reportedly found.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said he believed Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her bed after police alleged she was taken forcefully from her residence during the night, according to TMZ. Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that the blood was discovered inside the home amid signs of forced entry. They did not confirm whose blood it was. Nancy was reported missing.
The investigation faces increased urgency due to the revelation that Nancy require daily, life-saving medication to survive.

A representative for the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said detectives are investigating registered sex offenders in the region while looking through footage from cameras at Guthrie’s home, surrounding residences, traffic lights and businesses in the area, according to TMZ.
A spokesperson from the sheriff’s office told the outlet that Customs and Border Protection are also involved in the matter and K-9 dogs are being employed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police have not released any suspect information.

Nancy was declared missing Sunday afternoon, and was last seen Saturday night after coming back from dinner, according to TMZ. Her daughter Annie, Guthrie’s older sister, was reportedly the last individual to see Nancy and didn’t see any “red flags” in how her mother was acting, Us Weekly reported.
Savannah Guthrie issued a statement saying, “On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom.”
