DC man charged with stealing from the same CVS store six times in one month

A Washington, D.C., man has been charged with theft and unlawful entry after he stole six times from a CVS store in one month.

Calvin Miller, the 24-year-old suspect, was allegedly busted after police received calls about a theft in progress. He was arrested when police spotted him leaving the store with stolen merchandise.

The thief had been banned from the store and was found to have been involved in numerous other retail thefts at different CVS stores around the city.

Miller’s thefts frequently occurred in the afternoon.

“Mayor Bowser ought to consider enforcing the law. The tools are right there, she just refuses to use them,” one social media user said in response to Miller’s thefts.

Last October, one CVS store on H Street NE in the nation’s capital began filling shelves with framed pictures of products, including paper towels and toilet paper.

The retail theft situation in Washington DC is so out of control that a local CVS $CVS store resorted to displaying framed photos of the goods and items they offer.

Not even the toilet paper rolls are safe from the thieves.

This action forced customers to get employees to retrieve the product from the backroom. It worked to deter thieves who were grabbing products and leaving the store without paying.

Some restaurants in the city are spending thousands a week on security to combat crime. Restaurateur Aaron McGovern recently said he’d lost tens of thousands to burglaries of his business.
