Disneyland employee dies after fall from golf cart – Washington Examiner

A Disneyland employee died on Friday after falling off of a golf cart at the theme park a couple of days earlier.

Local police and fire and rescue personnel responded to a collision at the park on Wednesday, in which an employee fell off a moving golf cart and hit her head backstage. Anaheim, California, police Sgt. Jon McClintock told the Washington Examiner that the employee was then taken to a local hospital in serious condition and that she died two days later.

McClintock added that while the collision is under investigation, it appears to have been “a tragic accident.”

The employee has been identified as Bonnye Mavis Lear, who had worked at the park for 24 years. Lear most recently was employed at the park’s private dining club, called Club 33, where she assisted in membership services, Disneyland Resort public relations told the Washington Examiner.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said in a statement. “At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”

Disney theme park content creator Just Ask Danny also mourned Lear’s death on social media, stating he used to work with her and called her “quite literally the kindest human who worked at the Disneyland Resort.”

“This is truly very sad for her family and fellow Cast at the Club,” Just Ask Danny wrote on X.
