The Blind, the film detailing darker times that preceded the beloved Duck Dynasty TV series, will soon be available for in-home viewing.
The film explores the power of redemption as Phil Robertson, the head of the Duck Dynasty family, journeys through and overcomes infidelity, alcoholism, depression, and suicidal thoughts as a young husband and father alongside his wife, Kay Robertson, known as Miss Kay.

The Duck Dynasty matriarch told the Washington Examiner that letting people see inside the turmoil was not easy.
“I still dream about it. Like you know, the bad. And then I’m so glad I wake up because then that’s not true,” Miss Kay said. “We wanted to help people, and I know for a fact that’s what the film is doing. It’s helping people, and that was the main goal behind the movie. And I’m excited about that. I really am.”
The Blind, set in the backwoods swamps of Louisiana in the 1960s, hit nearly 2,000 theaters nationwide in September, earning the No. 4 box office spot in its opening weekend. The film has since grossed more than $16 million domestically.
“I’m just glad that I had my chance to open my mouth,” Miss Kay said of the film’s success.

“You just have to have the faith to hang in there,” she added, sharing how she hopes other broken marriages can also find restoration. “So many times, we think we hide everything. That’s bad, and when you actually are able to tell it, it really helps you in the long run. You should find somebody that you can share that you know — you want somebody that loves you and loves God, and you can pray together for it, and you can have somebody that shares the pain with you, and it does help. I mean, I’m so glad I had the people I had at the time.”
The Blind became available digitally on Nov. 3 and will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on Nov. 14.
