Republican New York Rep. Elise Stefanik signaled that she will run for governor in 2026 during an appearance on Fox News on Monday.
“Are you going to run for governor?” Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade asked.

“Yes, donate to savenewyork.com,” Stefanik replied. “We are building the groundwork today to support local candidates this year and we need to save New York and we’re working to do that every single day.”
Stefanik’s apparent confirmation of a run comes less than 24 hours after Democratic New York Governor Kathy Hochul endorsed Democratic mayoral nominee and avowed socialist Zohran Mamdani’s campaign.
