Elon Musk promises Don Lemon will still receive ad revenue for X show – Washington Examiner

X owner Elon Musk confirmed that Don Lemon will still make money from broadcasting his show on the platform.

Musk issued a response to Lemon’s Friday appearance on The View, when the former CNN host discussed the now-defunct deal with the social media platform. While the “show was always going to go everywhere” according to Lemon, X previously had some exclusive rights to specific time segments.

This deal was originally with Range Media Partners, which works with other shows, including those hosted by former Fox Sports host Jim Rome and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. Lemon’s show will also be streamed on YouTube and other podcast platforms.

“Even though I think Don [Lemon] is a pompous fool who spouts nonsense, he is still free to upload his show to 𝕏 and will receive advertising revenue,” Musk wrote Friday.

“I welcome the opportunity to share The Don Lemon Show on X and I challenge you @ElonMusk to actually watch it and then tell me it isn’t exactly what you said you want on your platform,” Lemon responded on X.

Lemon’s show is slated to premiere on Monday.

CNN fired Lemon after 17 years. He has not addressed any of the details of his dismissal, only implying his “journalistic duty” was on the line. Lemon was fired by then-CEO Chris Licht, who also left the network a short time later.
