Elon Musk revealed on Saturday that he and singer Grimes have a third child. The reveal comes ahead of the highly anticipated release of the Walter Isaacson biography on Musk that is to be published Tuesday.

The tech executive shared in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that the child’s name is Techno Mechanicus, nicknamed “Tau.”

Musk now has had a total of 11 children. The Space X founder has 10 known surviving children with three different women. Musk had his first children with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, including losing their first child after 10 weeks in 2002. They later had twins, Vivian and Griffin, in 2004, then triplets, Kai, Saxon, and Damian, in 2006.

Singer Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, gave birth in 2020 to Musk’s son named X AE A-XII Musk, with “X” as a first name. In December 2021, Boucher and Musk had a second child, a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, born via surrogacy. Exa’s name was later changed to “Y,” with the baby being discovered by a Vanity Fair reporter interviewing the singer in March 2022 when the infant was heard crying.

The Tesla CEO has had a complicated relationship with Boucher, which is well documented in Isaacson’s new book.

Weeks before Musk and Boucher welcomed their daughter, the tech billionaire had twins with Shivon Zilis, director of operations and special projects at Musk’s brain chip company Neuralink, via a surrogate in November 2021.

Boucher suggested in a since-deleted tweet on Thursday that there was conflict between her and Zilis when she responded to a tweet from Isaacson sharing a photograph of Musk, Zilis, and their twins at her house in Austin, Texas.

The singer suggested that Musk was not allowing her to see her own son.

“Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer,” she wrote in the now-deleted tweet. “I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children until this moment, despite the situation utterly ripping my family apart.”

Boucher shared a social media post later clarifying the situation.

“I spoke with Shivon at length finally, which was long overdue. This wasn’t her fault, plz don’t be angry at her! We respect each other a lot and we’re excited to become friends and have the kids grow up together,” she said on Sunday. “Women are so often pitted against each other. Speaking with Shivon, it’s very evident she’s an amazing human and we both just want what’s best for our kids.”

Boucher added about the third child, saying, “I wish I could show u how cute little Techno is but my priority rn is keeping my babies out of the public eye, Plz respect that at this time.”

Zilis responded on social media that “it all ended up for the best” and called Boucher “a total bada**.”

“I can’t wait for kiddo play date and congrats on baby Tau as well!” Zilis said.

The couple’s third child “Tau” was born in mid-June 2022 and was kept a secret until the release of Isaacson’s book.
