Trump has only won two elections, not three. The U.S. has a two term limit on presidency.

Fact Check:

Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris and is set to take office for his second term on Jan. 20, 2025, according to CNBC. Harris conceded on Nov. 6 and , per the outlet.

A post made on X claims Trump is the first president in U.S. history to win three elections. The caption reads, “BREAKING: Donald J Trump is the first president in history to win 3 elections.”

The claim is false. Trump has won two presidential elections, not three. Trump lost in 2020 to now President Joe Biden. (RELATED: Image Of Trump Peeking At Melania’s Ballot Is From 2016).

Even if Trump had won three presidential elections, he would not be the first president to do so. Former President Franklin D. Roosevelt won four presidential elections in 1932, 1936, 1940, and 1944. Following FDR’s presidency, the United States Constitution was ratified to limit presidents to serving two terms.

The 22nd amendment reads, “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”
