Verdict: False
There are no credible news outlets reporting the claim.
Fact Check:
An unnamed woman in New York, who claims she was impregnated at his home, has filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, The Associated Press reported. The suit was filed Friday and includes claims of her being drugged and raped, according o the outlet.
A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, alleges that James refused to respond to questions about Combs until he finds out how much information is made public. The post shared a photo of James speaking into a microphone and a smaller image of the athlete with Diddy in the corner.
The text on the post reads, “I prefer not to speak on this matter until I know how much information becomes public knowledge.”
The claim is inaccurate. There is no video of this statement. No credible sports outlets have covered the claim
The image of LeBron at the Lakers press conference that was used in the post was taken in 2022, predating Diddy’s arrest, according to Getty Images’ description. (Fact Check: Did Megan Fox Delete Social Media Posts After Diddy Arrest?)
LeBron has received criticism for his connection with Combs after a video resurfaced of him saying to Combs, “ain’t no party, like a Diddy party,” the New York Post reported.
This is not the first time misinformation involving Diddy has circulated online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim a video showed Diddy in prison.
