A post shared on social media purportedly shows a video of Vice President Kamala Harris refusing to answer questions about the economy during an interview.
Verdict: False
The video is edited.
Fact Check:
Both candidates are to be informed of the damage caused by Hurricane Helene with Former President Donald Trump set to visit Valdosta, Georgia and will be briefed on the damage caused by Hurricane Helene, Fox News reported. Harris is returning to Washington D.C. and will be briefed on the storm at the Federal Emergency Management Agency headquarters.
A post shared on Instagram allegedly shows an interview interaction in which Harris is asked about the Biden administration’s economy in relation to the economy under Trump. Harris appears to simply respond with “next question.”
The claim is inaccurate. The video edited two separate sections of the interview to show Harris refused to answer a question about the economy. The full interview shows that the question and the response were from two separate parts of the interview. Harris did respond to the question about the economy.
Harris refused to answer a question about Donald Trump’s comments related to Harris’ race and heritage. The full interview transcript shows that Dana Bash asked, “he suggested that you happened to turn Black recently for political purposes, questioning a core part of your identity.” Harris responded by saying, “next question, please.” (Fact Check: Is The Harris Campaign Paying Non-Citizens $700 Per Week To Attend Rallies And To Protest?)
This is not the first time misinformation about Harris has circulated online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim a photo authentically showed the VP with Diddy.
