Verdict: False
The video has been edited to include Walz’ face on another person’s body.
Fact Check:
The House of Representatives’ Education and Workforce Committee sent a subpoena to Walz as part of an investigation into a nonprofit’s $250 million COVID fraud scheme in Minnesota, Fox News reported. The organization Feed Our Future is being investigated for allegedly committing fraud with a federal program to feed children during the pandemic.
A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purports to share video of Tim Walz dancing. The video shows a man in a pink cowboy hat and tight outfit with what looks to be rhinestones.
The caption reads, “A live look in at a joyous Tim Walz after attending a reverse trail ride where he got ridden by a multitude of horses.”
The claim is inaccurate. There is no credible news report that suggests this video was taken of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The video has been edited to feature Walz’s face on the person in the video.
The original video shows the face of the person who is clearly not Walz. His face has been edited on another dancer’s body previously, which Check Your Fact covered. Check Your Fact also debunked similar claims made about French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Walz was seen dancing with his family to Bruce Springsteen’s track ‘Born in the USA,’ during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, according to Times Now. (RELATED: No, Image Does Not Show The Guardian Article From Tim Walz About Dancing On Stage Naked)
