The caption is inaccurate. The video predates the conflict in Yemen.
The United States has launched more attacks on the Houthi rebel group in Yemen, Al Jazeera reported. The U.S. targeted Houthi missiles that were prepared to be fired and were a threat to commercial vessels in the region.
A post shared on Instagram allegedly shows a U.S. attack on the capital of Yemen. The video shows explosions in the middle of the night.
The caption reads, “US and UK are bombing Yemen’s capital right now because the Houthis were blocking ships going to Israel in support of a ceasefire for Gaza. Pure evilllllllll. Israel getting their dogs to go do their dirty work.”
The claim is inaccurate. The video was taken in the capital city of Yemen. However, it predates the U.S. and U.K. strike on Yemen in January 2024. The video was posted on social media on Sept. 3, 2023. Google translated the caption, “The explosion of the Al-Mafzar natural gas station in the center of the capital, Sana’a We ask God for safety for everyone.”
