Verdict: Misleading

Most of the IDF troops were killed at Nahal Oz during the Oct. 7 attacks. One was killed in Gaza after being taken hostage.

Fact Check:

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, according to Reuters.

Social media users are claiming to show a list of IDF troops killed in Lebanon, where Israel is fighting Hezbollah. The list of troops is comprised of all women. (RELATED: No, This Video Doesn’t Show Rachel Levine As A Pagan Priest)

This claim is misleading. Most of the troops were killed at Nahal Oz, which is an Israeli military base, not Lebanon, according to Misbar. Nahal Oz was attacked by Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups on Oct. 7, and they were killed during the fighting, per the outlet.

One of the troops, Noa Marciano, was taken hostage during the attack and later died in Gaza, according to the Jerusalem Post. Her parents said that she was killed by a Gaza doctor who didn’t treat her wounds that she suffered after an Israeli Air Force bombing struck Al-Shifa Hospital, per the outlet.

52 Israeli troops died during the fighting at Nahal Oz, according to Ynet News. Several other IDF troops were taken hostage, with one being rescued and others remaining in captivity, per the outlet.
