Verdict: False
Jordan did not endorse Trump, a spokesperson for him confirmed in an email to Check Your Fact.
Fact Check:
Former President Donald Trump expects an election winner to be declared on Tuesday night and that he will address the country “at the right time,” according to ABC News. During the phone call with ABC, he said he is leading in all seven battleground states, citing Brazil-based polling company AtlasIntel, the outlet reported.
An X post claims Jordan has endorsed Trump. It shows an image of Jordan and has the caption, “JUST IN: Michael Jordan becomes the latest to endorse Donald Trump for President.”
This claim is inaccurate, however. There are no credible news reports to corroborate the claim. Additionally, a Jordan spokesperson told Check Your Fact via email that the claim holds no truth. (RELATED: Did Nicki Minaj Endorse Trump?)
“There is absolutely no truth to the claim that Michael Jordan has made an endorsement in the presidential election,” the spokesperson said.
Jordan has previously taken a neutral stance when it comes to politics. “I never thought of myself as an activist. I thought of myself as a basketball player. I wasn’t a politician when I was playing my sport. I was focused on my craft,” he said in an episode of ESPN documentary The Last Dance, according to The Guardian.
