The claim is inaccurate. The headband actually shows the number 15, not a swastika symbol.

Fact Check: 

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in a 25-22 win on Sunday, their second consecutive Super Bowl win, according to NPR. Mahomes’ father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., was arrested on DWI charges in Texas on the Saturday before his son competed in the Super Bowl, CBS Sports reported.

An X post claims Mahomes donned a swastika headband. The photo shows the player speaking into a CBS microphone on camera, wearing the alleged headband. An image of a swastika symbol has been overlaid on the image for comparison.

The claim is inaccurate, however. The screenshot was taken from a Super Bowl postgame interview posted by NFL on Fox. When Mahomes turns his head, the number 15 is visible instead of a swastika, matching his jersey number. His ear partially obscures the 15 in the screenshot posted on X.

The 15 on his headband can also be seen in a photo posted on Getty Images.
