FACT CHECK: No, The Heritage Foundation Did Not Endorse Kamala Harris

A post made on Instagram claims that the Heritage Foundation endorsed 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

Verdict: False

There is no evidence for this claim. The Heritage Foundation confirmed to Check Your Fact the claim is false.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming that the Heritage Foundation endorsed Harris for president. A woman in the video in one such post states, “Well, well, well, guess who just got endorsed by the Heritage Foundation? Your girl Kamala Harris.”

The claim is false. The Heritage Foundation does not endorse candidates. Text on The Heritage Foundation website reads, “Heritage does not endorse candidates or conduct original research on behalf of candidates. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization we rely on the financial contributions of the general public. We accept no government funds and perform no contract work.”

When asked for comment, The Heritage Foundation told Check Your Fact, “This claim is 100% false – as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we may not make political endorsements and have never done so.” (RELATED: Did Former NFL Kicker Chris Jacke Endorse Harris?)

Text included in the video uploaded with the post reads, “Kamala Harris Endorses Project 2025 🤔.” This claim is also false. There is no evidence to show Harris endorsed Project 2025. The Harris for President website reads, “AND IF YOU WANT TO STOP PROJECT 2025? JOIN THE HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT CAMPAIGN TO DEFEAT TRUMP.”

USA Today has also debunked this claim. Check Your Fact has reached out to the Harris Campaign for comment.
