Verdict: False

There are no credible news reports or matching search results on the Wall Street Journal website for this claim.

Fact Check:

The U.S. intelligence community estimates that the recent bombing on a Gaza hospital has resulted in between 100-300 deaths compared to Hamas’ estimate of 500, according to CNN. Israelis and Palestinians have blamed each other for the attack, while President Joe Biden has said that it was a result of an errant rocket from a “terrorist group,” Reuters reported.

The X post claims the bombing was caused by an American MK-84. “The Wall Street Journal: ‘The bomb that was dropped on the hospital was an American MK-84.’ This bomb is precision-guided, largest in MK family and has about 950 kg weight,” the post reads.

The claim is inaccurate. No such article can be found on the Wall Street Journal website. Likewise, a Google search yields no credible news reports about the claim from the Wall Street Journal or other media outlets. (RELATED: Did The IDF Arabic Facebook Page Say Israel Bombed The Gaza Hospital)
