Verdict: Misleading

The video appears to be for comedic purposes, not documenting deaths in Gaza.

Fact Check:

Israel resumed its campaign against Hamas after a temporary ceasefire collapsed, according to The Associated Press. Israel targeted Khan Younis with intensified strikes, the outlet reported.

Social media users have been sharing a video, claiming it shows Palestinians faking their deaths. One user wrote, “Israel killed dozens!!! Massacre, Arabs, hahaha.”

This claim, however, is misleading. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the video is from March 2021. It was posted to TikTok by @moslemaborabea. (RELATED: Does Image Show An Israeli Soldier Standing On A Palestinian Child?)

The video’s caption indicates that the video is comedy. MisBar, an Arab-language fact-checking outlet, reported in May 2021 that the men in the video are “Abu Layl, Abu Raad, and Abu Rayan, who all have Down syndrome represent themselves as the kings of TikTok.”

Social media users and members of the Israeli government have shared videos claiming to show that Palestinians are faking deaths and suffering, according to France 24. For example, Check Your Fact debunked a claim from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesperson, Ofir Gendelman, that a video showed Palestinians faking deaths.
