A video shared on X claims French President Emmanuel Macron was booed at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Macron has publicly shit himself. He was booed at the closing of the gay Olympics. And it is clear that he can’t take a punch. A worthless person. pic.twitter.com/qIv0K9arjQ

Verdict: False
The claim is false. According to an article from Sky News, Macron was booed at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup in Paris in September 2023.
Fact Check:
Macron said the Paris 2024 Olympics showed the world “the true face of France,” according to French outlet Le Monde. The Olympic torch has officially been passed to Los Angeles, which will host the games in 2028, local outlet KTLA 5 reported.
The X video, viewed over 13,000 times as of writing, claims Macron was booed at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics. In the video, Macron walks on stage and takes his place behind a podium to speak before appearing to be met with boos from the crowd. “It is clear that he can’t take a punch,” the video’s caption reads in part.
The claim is false. Macron was booed at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup in Paris in September 2023, not the 2024 Olympics. According to an article from Sky News published on September 8, Macron was met with boos when he walked on stage and the booing became worse as he addressed the crowd. An image of Macron included in the article matches that of the viral X video. Specifically, the podium in the photo bears the same red and white logo as that of the one in the video.
Likewise, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. In fact, the opposite is true. On August 14, Misbar debunked the claim. The article cited video of the event to corroborate the claim, but it is not available for playback in the U.S.
Additionally, Macron has neither commented on the claim via his official website nor his verified social media accounts. (RELATED: Did Fox News Report That Simon Biles Announced That She Is Pregnant And Retiring?)
