Food stamps: Georgia February SNAP payments worth up to $1,751 to end in 10 days – Washington Examiner

Georgia residents who receive monthly benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will get their February payments in the next 10 days if they have yet to collect this month.

SNAP benefits are sent to low-income families and individuals from Feb. 5-23 in the Peach State. Payments will be issued to recipients’ accounts with the date dependent on the last two digits of a beneficiary’s client ID. For example, IDs ending in 90-99 will receive their benefits on Feb. 23.

The exact payout SNAP recipients see depends on variables such as assets, household size, and income. The maximum payment that a household of one can receive is $291, a household of five can get up to $1,155, and $1,751 is the maximum payment for a household of eight. For each household member after eight, $219 is added.

Georgians can use their benefits to purchase eligible food items at participating grocery or convenience stores through an electronic benefit transfer card, which is similar to a debit card. Around 1.6 million people, roughly 15% of the state’s population, receive SNAP benefits in Georgia.

Those interested in applying for SNAP benefits can visit Georgia’s Department of Human Services website under the Division of Family and Children Services section or call 1-877-423-4746.
