Food stamps: Georgia SNAP payments for March worth up to $1,751 to end in nine days – Washington Examiner

Georgia residents who receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and have yet to get their March payments can expect them to arrive in the next nine days.

SNAP payments in Georgia have been going out since March 5, and they will end on March 23. They will be issued to recipients’ accounts on days depending on the last two digits of beneficiaries’ client IDs. For example, beneficiary IDs ending in 90-99 will receive their benefits on March 23.

The specific payout depends on variables such as assets, household size, and income. The maximum payment a household of one can receive is $291, while a household of five can get up to $1,155, and $1,751 is the maximum payment for a household of eight. For each household member after eight, $219 is added.

Georgians can use their benefits to purchase eligible food items at participating grocery or convenience stores through electronic benefits transfer cards, which are similar to debit cards. Meat, poultry and fish products, dairy items, breads and cereals, and other eligible groceries can be purchased using SNAP. Products such as pet food, alcohol, and household items such as paper and soap cannot be purchased using SNAP benefits.
