Food stamps: October SNAP payments worth up to $1,751 to Iowa wrap up in one day

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will conclude payments for October to Iowa residents tomorrow.
Iowa sends SNAP payments to recipients from the first through the 10th of every month. Food stamps will arrive based on the first letter of the household’s last name.

Households with last names starting with A-V should have received food stamp payments already. Those with last names starting with W, X, Y, and Z should receive their payments on Tuesday.
Those with last names A or B received payments on Oct. 1. Households with last names C or D received payments on Oct. 2. Those with last names E, F, and G collected payments on Oct 3. Households with last names H or I collected payments on Oct. 4. Those with last names J, K, and L received payments on Oct. 5. Households with last names M, N, and O collected payments on Oct. 6. Households with last names P, Q, and R received payments on Oct. 7. Households with the last name S received payments on Oct. 8, and households with last names T, U, and V received payments on Monday.

The maximum payment is $291 for a household of one, $1,155 for a household of five, and $1,751 for a household of eight. For each household member above eight, $219 is added.
In the Hawkeye State, the average payment per household member per month is $170. Approximately 9% of the population, or 278,800 people, receive food stamps in Iowa.
