Former Biden supporter now receptive to Trump 2024 win – Washington Examiner

A Michigan man who once knocked on doors for President Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 election changed to help run the “uncommitted” campaign to ensure he is not reelected in 2024.

Adam Abusalah, 23, a Palestinian American, rallied support against Biden ahead of Michigan’s primary late last month. In an interview with the Washington Post, he confirmed he supported Democratic Michiganders voting “uncommitted” so Biden receives fewer votes in protest to Biden’s staunch defense of Israel. The number of uncommitted votes resulted in Biden losing two delegates, who will be free to vote for any candidate they’d like later this year.

“I don’t think there is anything that I can tell people in my community to justify voting for this guy,” Abusalah said of Biden.

“If Trump becomes president again, so be it. I mean, for me, it does not matter. For people who have lost family in Gaza, they don’t care. They don’t care, whichever — like, if Trump is president again. I think for us, it’s not that we want Trump to be president, it’s that we don’t want Biden to be president,” he added. “And if that means another Trump presidency, that’s on Biden. It’s not on us.”

Abusalah’s efforts have seemingly worked, as Biden called for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in an MSNBC interview Saturday for the first time.

“I want to see a ceasefire, and I’m starting with a major, major exchange of prisoners for a six-week period,” Biden said. “We’re going into Ramadan. It should be nothing happening, and we should build off of that ceasefire.”

The Islamic holy month of Ramadan is set to begin Sunday night. During that period, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Israel has agreed to this six-week ceasefire, but Hamas has refused so far. During a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas last November, in which hostages were exchanged for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons, the terrorist group abruptly ended the agreed-upon pause early by launching missiles at Israel.
