As former President Donald Trump’s former adviser Peter Navarro is released from prison Wednesday, his next move in his newly found freedom looks to be speaking at the Republican National Convention. 

Navarro completed his four-month prison sentence for defying a congressional subpoena to testify before the Jan. 6 committee. He is expected to travel quickly from federal prison in Miami to Milwaukee in order to address the RNC, according to CNN.

He recently said he has “no regrets” about actions that led to his prison sentence in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

“I have no regrets,” Navarro said. “I didn’t choose this fight. This fight chose me.”

Lawmakers in Congress wanted Navarro to testify in Trump’s effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election as they looked into reports of his involvement, including his own account of the events he wrote in his memoir. A federal jury found Navarro guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress, which included his failure to provide requested documents and his failure to show up to testify.

He is one of two former Trump White House advisers to go to prison for defying a congressional subpoena. Steve Bannon recently started serving his own four-month sentence.

Trump said he would “absolutely” have Navarro back in the White House should he be elected for a second term.
