Fort McCoy Garrison Commander Who Refused to Display Photos of President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth Has Been SUSPENDED

Fort McCoy Garrison Commander Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez

Fort McCoy Garrison Commander Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez has been suspended from her position after reportedly refusing to display official photographs of Commander-in-Chief Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The announcement was made in a brief and carefully worded statement by Fort McCoy’s Senior Commander on Saturday, claiming the suspension was “not related to any misconduct” and that “no further details will be provided at this time.”

The statement reads, “Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez has been suspended as Garrison Commander at Fort McCoy. This suspension is not related to any misconduct. We have no further details to provide at this time while this matter is under review.”

According to multiple reports, Col. Ramirez—who assumed command at Fort McCoy in July 2024—has openly engaged in left-wing political activism and repeatedly defied Department of Defense regulations requiring the prominent display of official portraits of current civilian leadership, including the President, Vice President, and Secretary of Defense.

Last week, the DOD Rapid Response wrote on X, “Regarding the Ft. McCoy Chain of Command wall controversy…. WE FIXED IT! Also, an investigation has begun to figure out exactly what happened.”

Pete Hegseth reposted Ramirez’s suspension report on X.
