Fulton County Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade settles divorce case

Fulton County special prosecutor Nathan Wade settled his divorce case, canceling a Wednesday hearing that would have featured his testimony discussing his relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

The settlement also saves Willis from likely having to testify in the case and gives further insight into her relationship with Wade. The alleged affair risks jeopardizing one of the central cases against former President Donald Trump, which threatens to jeopardize his 2024 campaign. The canceled testimonies will likely save Wade and Willis from additional scrutiny that could affect the case.

The settlement reached by Wade and his estranged ex-wife is only temporary, her attorneys said.

“All of the issues we pled for temporary support and attorneys fees have been resolved by this agreement,” Andrea Hastings, one of Joycelyn Wade’s attorneys, said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The case is not resolved on a final basis. We still have a lot of work to do to be able to resolve this case through either a final settlement or a trial.”

Willis was served a subpoena on Jan. 8, demanding she testify about her relationship with Wade. Her attempts to avoid testifying were rejected.

Wade has come under national scrutiny regarding the alleged undisclosed relationship he had with Willis, potentially jeopardizing the election interference case against Trump. Wade was put in charge of the prosecution of Trump by Willis despite allegedly having little experience in such cases.
