GOP Congressman Tom Kean Finally Gives Return Date After Missing 135 Roll Call Votes Since Early March
GOP Congressman Tom Kean will return to work on June 30 after missing 135 roll call votes.
Rep. Kean has been absent from DC since early March due to a mysterious health issue.
Speaker Johnson previously told ABC News that Rep. Kean is dealing with personal health matters.
“I was happy to speak to Tom Kean, Jr. this afternoon by phone. He is attending to a personal health matter and expects to be back to 100% very soon,” Johnson told ABC News in April.
“Tom is one of the most dedicated and hardest-working Members of Congress, and I am grateful for all he does and will continue to do to serve New Jerseyans and our country,” Johnson said.
Tom Kean eventually broke his silence and thanked his constituents for their patience as he addressed his personal medical issue.

The New Jersey Republican still has not disclosed his health issue.
NBC News reported:
Rep. Tom Kean Jr., R-N.J., plans to return to Capitol Hill on June 30 after missing more than 100 votes during a nearly four-month absence from Washington.
His chief of staff, Dan Scharfenberger, confirmed to NBC News on Thursday the date of Kean’s planned return. The New Jersey Globe first reported the news.
Kean’s office previously said that the congressman’s absence was due to a “personal medical issue” but has not disclosed any further details on his condition.
Kean last voted in the Capitol on March 5, but his office has kept active on social media while he’s stayed out of the public eye.
The congressman is running for re-election and will face off against Democrat Rebecca Bennett, a former Navy helicopter pilot and healthcare executive, in November.
