Hillary Clinton has a sharp message for everyone complaining about their 2024 options – Washington Examiner

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said voters who complain about the presidential election being a rematch of President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump should “get over yourself.”

Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, said the choice between the two men is clear while speaking on NBC’s The Tonight Show on Monday night.

“One is old and effective and compassionate, has a heart, and really cares about people,” Clinton said. “And one is old and has been charged with 91 felonies.”

“I don’t understand why this is even a hard choice,” she said. “Really. I don’t understand.”

The former secretary of state told host Jimmy Fallon that the election is an “existential question” over the future of the country.

“We have to go through the election, and hopefully, people will realize what’s at stake. Because it’s an existential question. What kind of country we’re gonna have? What kind of democracy we’re gonna have?” Clinton said. “And people who blow that off are not paying attention because it’s not like Trump, his enablers, his empowerers, his allies are not telling us what they want to do. I mean, they’re pretty clear about what kind of country they want.”

Clinton, who has been a fierce supporter of Biden’s reelection campaign, has not shied away from admitting that Biden, 81, is old, but she has also contested that isn’t a problem, considering Trump is 77 and is, she has argued, a significantly worse option in November.

“Somebody the other day said to me … ‘Well, but, you know, Joe Biden’s old.’ I said, ‘You know what, Joe Biden is old. Let’s go ahead and accept the reality. Joe Biden is old,’” Clinton said on SiriusXM’s Mornings with Zerlina last month.

The November presidential matchup between Trump and Biden will be between the two oldest major party candidates in U.S. history. Biden is also the oldest president in the country’s history.
