Hillary Clinton Spreads HUGE LIE About House-Passed SAVE Act That Will Require Proof of Citizenship For Voting

Failed Democratic presidential candidate talks to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour about "deprogramming" Trump supporters.

Twice-failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton reacted to the SAVE Act passed by the House of Representatives on Thursday.

The SAVE Act passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 216-208. Only four Democrats, Ed Case (HI), Henry Cuellar (TX), Jared Golden (ME), and Marie Perez (WA), voted to secure elections from illegal voting.

The bill, championed by Republicans who want honest elections, will mandate documentary proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. Currently, one does not need to provide proof of citizenship, such as a driver’s license or a passport, to vote in races for President, the House, and the Senate.

Under the proposed law, states would be barred from processing voter registration applications unless applicants present “documentary proof” of citizenship, such as a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, a U.S. passport, or a certified birth certificate paired with a government-issued photo ID.

The bill also mandates states to actively purge noncitizens from voter rolls, leveraging federal databases like the Department of Homeland Security’s Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) system and the Social Security Administration’s verification tools. States would also be required to set up programs within 30 days of enactment to root out ineligible voters.

Hillary Clinton spread a huge lie about the House-passed SAVE Act.

Clinton said the SAVE Act threatens voting access to 69 million women whose married names don’t match their birth certificates.

This is of course, a lie.

“The House just passed the Republican voter suppression measure that threatens voting access for millions of Americans, including 69 million women whose married names don’t match their birth certificates,” Hillary Clinton said on X.

“Make sure your senators know you expect them to stand against it,” she said.

Senator Mike Lee called Hillary Clinton out for lying about the SAVE Act.
