Israel war: Anti-Defamation League chastises MSNBC for mislabeling Hamas as ‘fighters’

The director of the Anti-Defamation League criticized MSNBC over the network’s weekend coverage of the attacks on Israel.

Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist group, attacked Israel early Saturday. At least 700 Israelis and 400 Palestinians have been killed after Israel retaliated against Gaza. Israeli Ambassador Gilad Menashe Erdan spoke at the United Nations over the weekend, condemning the “barbaric program of unparalleled magnitude.”

WHAT IS HAMAS, AND WHO IS THE COMMANDER KNOWN AS ‘THE GUEST’ BEHIND THE TERROR ATTACK ON ISRAEL?

“They are not fighters … they are not militants,” Jonathan Greenblatt told Morning Joe fill-in host Jonathan Lemire. “They are terrorists. It is a barbarian, who rapes and brutalizes women.”

President Joe Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin condemned the attack and said the United States has shared support for Israel and will offer additional aid over the coming days.

Without a House speaker, the ability to respond to international conflicts such as the Hamas attack on Israel will be limited. Since the attack, calls for Republicans to reinstate McCarthy as speaker have grown.

Greenblatt is urging for the narrative to change based on the footage circulated online from the terrorist attacks.

“Stop calling this a retaliation. This is a defensive measure against an organization that is committed to one thing: killing Jews,” Greenblatt concluded.
