Israel war: Netanyahu warns that failure to defeat Hamas would mean ‘you’re next’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that if Israel is unable to defeat Hamas, the “horrors” committed by the terrorist group will spread to Europe and the United States.

Netanyahu, speaking on Fox News’s Hannity on Monday, compared Hamas to a different terrorist group, the Islamic State, as he asserted that “there is no substitute for total victory” against Hamas.

“Who’s going to win? Are the good guys going to win, or the bad guys are going to win? And, of course, we have to make sure that the forces of good, the forces of peace, the forces of progress and prosperity, they win, and not the forces that take us back to the Dark Ages. That’s the battle,” Netanyahu said.

“It will affect every single person, not only in the Middle East but well beyond, because if Israel is in peril, if the Middle East goes down, Europe is next. It’s like ISIS. You know, people thought it was a local thing. It wasn’t. It was a global thing. And it affected Americans. It beheaded Americans. If we don’t win now, then Europe is next, and you’re next. And we have to win. There is no substitute for total victory,” he added.

The Israeli prime minister also detailed the actions of Hamas against Israelis, specifically in the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks, and described them as “monstrous.” He pointed out how terrorists recorded their actions against Israelis rather than trying to “hide their crimes.”

“They took hostages. They took a 10-month-old baby hostage. What kind of monster holds babies hostage? Holocaust survivors, they took hostages, men, women, children, elderly. These are monstrous, monstrous terrorists. And they perpetrated the worst horrors against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. And if we let them get away with it, this barbarism will spread,” Netanyahu said.

“You know what the difference is, Sean? At least the Nazis and [Joseph] Stalin, they wanted to hide their crimes. These people glorify their crimes. They bring GoPro cameras for their murderers to show the entire world. They celebrate it,” he added.

The war between Israel and Hamas began when the terrorist group launched attacks against the Jewish state on Oct. 7, killing roughly 1,200 people and taking more than 200 people hostage.

President Joe Biden has supported Israel’s right to defend itself, but he has faced pressure from left-wing flanks of his party to push for a ceasefire to protect Palestinian civilians.
