Israel war: White House hammered for posting about Bidenomics amid fighting in Gaza

President Joe Biden faced a barrage of online criticism Monday for posting about his economic platform amid escalating violence between the Israeli military and Hamas.

The president was quick to condemn the series of terror attacks carried out by Hamas members over the weekend but made no mention on Monday of the more than 700 killed in the fighting, including nine American citizens, nor the countless hostages abducted by Hamas militants.

WHAT IS HAMAS, AND WHO IS THE COMMANDER KNOWN AS ‘THE GUEST’ BEHIND THE TERROR ATTACK ON ISRAEL?

As of 4 p.m. on Monday, both the president’s government account and the White House account had posted on X numerous times, touting the president’s economic and reproductive health policies.

One post from the White House on “junk fees” drew particular ire from Republicans and Israeli activists questioning the decision not to pause scheduled posts in light of the violence.

“Terrorists are holding Americans hostage in Gaza right now,” wrote Christina Pushaw, a spokeswoman for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL). “And your priority is concert tickets?”

“What are you doing,” asked Rebeccah Heinrichs, director of the Keystone Defense Initiative and the Hudson Institute.

Abigail Jackson, the communications director for Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), posted a meme responding to the White House statement simply saying, “It’s time to stop posting.”

Biden spent much of Monday afternoon receiving briefings about the situation in the Middle East and speaking with leaders of U.S. allies about the response.

He also spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday and expressed the United States’s “full support for the people of Israel in the face of an unprecedented and appalling assault by Hamas terrorists.”

“We will remain in close contact over the coming days,” he wrote Sunday evening. “The US will continue to stand with the people of Israel.”
