Ivanka Trump shared on Instagram several photos celebrating her grandmother’s 97th birthday. In the social media post on Wednesday, she revealed that Marie Zelnickova, known as “Grandma Babi” in the Trump family, has been living with her in Miami, Florida.
“Last week we celebrated my Grandma Babi’s 97th birthday. We’re so lucky to have Babi living with us in Miami these last couple years — I’m thankful for every lesson, every story, and every game night where she still destroys us all at Jenga!” the businesswoman and daughter of the former President Donald Trump said.
THE RACE IS ON: WHO COULD REPLACE MCCARTHY AS SPEAKER?
She added, “It’s the simple moments together that define the richness of life. I cherish every second.”
Zelnickova is the mother of the late Ivana Trump, who passed away in July 2022 from a fatal fall down the stairs at her Upper East Side Manhattan home.
The former first daughter was heavily involved in her father’s first term as president, alongside her husband Jared Kushner.
When the former president announced that he would be running for the 2024 nomination in 2022, Ivanka told the media that she had no plans to take an active role in her father’s renewed White House bid.
“I do not plan to be involved in politics,” she said in a statement. She was not in attendance at the official announcement at Mar-a-Lago.
The Kushners have steered clear of politics in recent years and have lived a relatively private life in Miami, Florida.
“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” she said at the time when her father launched his 2024 campaign.
Caretaking for her grandmother, who is just three years shy of becoming a centenarian, has likely been another reason for her withdrawal from public life.

She has also been pulled into her father’s recent legal battles. New York Attorney General Letitia James has been attempting to put pressure on the former president by calling on his eldest daughter to be a witness in the $250 million fraud lawsuit involving the Trump Organization.
The death of Trump’s former wife Ivana led the New York attorney general to slightly postpone the 2022 deposition of the former president as part of the civil investigation into whether he and his company had fraudulently inflated the value of his assets.
