Jared Polis slammed for cringe-filled ‘Feliz Navidad’ performance amid immigrant crisis

Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO) is under fire after a Christmas Eve message in which Polis treated his state to an a cappella rendition of “Feliz Navidad.”

Polis, 48, sang Jose Feliciano’s 1970 classic through his Spanish X account, and it has since racked up over 2 million views.

He paired his song, which he did not accompany with any background music, with a little dance and a caption reading ¡Feliz Navidad Colorado!

While the governor’s performance was appreciated by some, many called out Polis for pandering to the Latin community and failing to recognize the thousands of immigrants filling shelters in the state.

“Even the Latinxs are cringing,” one user posted under the video.

“I didn’t need a reminder of why I left that state, but it’s still nice to know I did the right thing,” another said.

“It’s cultural appropriation to pander in this manner,” according to one comment.

“Are you talking to all the illegals that just got bussed here?” one X user asked. “Try [Mandarin] or [Swahili].”

Colorado has not been spared by the illegal immigrant crisis that has ailed the United States under blue-state governors and President Joe Biden.

More than 340 immigrants arrived in Denver last Thursday and Friday via bus, and shelters in Denver are being pushed to their limits, with more than 3,800 illegal immigrants now calling them home, according to a report.

“We can run out of room,” Jon Ewing, a Denver Human Services spokesman, said.

“We can run out of resources. We are already limited as it is. It strains an already strained system even further.”
