Actress Mayim Bialik will no longer be hosting Jeopardy! alongside co-host Ken Jennings.

Bialik made the announcement on Instagram Friday, implying that it was a decision made by Sony.

THE ECONOMIC INDICATOR SCREAMING THAT INFLATION IS NOT VANQUISHED

“As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news,” Bialik wrote. “Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy.”

Bialik was nominated for a prime-time Emmy as Outstanding Gameshow Host. The show won the Emmy for Outstanding Gameshow in 2022 with Bialik and Jennings at the helm, which the show had only won once before. Bialik expressed that she was “deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family.”

“For all of you who have supported me through this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz Show, thank you,” Bialik wrote.

The official Jeopardy! account also released a statement on Instagram, confirming that Jennings will be the sole host.

“We are truly grateful for all of Mayim’s contributions to ‘Jeopardy!’, and we hope to continue to work with her on primetime specials,” it read.

Bialik took a brief pause from hosting earlier this year during the season finale, as the Writers Guild of America was on strike at the time. The strike did not affect Wheel of Fortune, as it does not employ WGA writers. So, Bialik appeared on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune around the same time.

The Primetime Emmys are slated for Jan. 15, a delay brought on by the combined WGA and Screen Actors Guild strikes. Bialik is up against her co-host Jennings, Keke Palmer of Password, Pat Sajak of Wheel of Fortune, and Steve Harvey of Family Feud for the Outstanding Gameshow Host award.
