Playwright David Mamet issued a condemnation of modern-day Democratic politicians’ treatment of Jewish people.

Mamet, himself Jewish, published an editorial on Monday lamenting “How the Democrats betrayed the Jews,” as the title suggests. While he recognizes that most Jewish Americans vote Democratic per “tradition,” as he admits he did, he no longer considers himself a Democratic voter.

“Still, today, Jews vote Democratic: electing Presidents who refused to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister (Obama and Biden) in times of ‘peace’, who gave and give aid to the terrorist state of Iran in exchange for some semi-specified ‘deal.’ American ‘Aid’ to Iran pays for the equipment and ordnance, which is, at this moment, eradicating Jews,” Mamet wrote. “But there is no more cosy mystery in the antisemitism of the Democratic Party; Representatives are affiliated with the Democratic Socialists and pro-Palestinians, calling for the end of the state of Israel — that is, for the death of the Jews.”

Without naming her, Mamet also mentioned that Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) repeated “libel” that blamed the Israel Defense Forces for the explosion at the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital over a week ago that killed hundreds. While Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) would eventually walk back her initial reaction to the hospital bombing, blaming “the fog of war” and “misinformation” on X, formerly known as Twitter, Tlaib would not take back her comments.

“The writing is on the wall. In blood,” Mamet wrote. According to Mamet, Jewish Americans who are condemning Israeli Jews could be likened to the German Jews before the Second World War who “ignored their brothers and sisters to the East, and later died with them.”
