Joe Biden stumbles up the stairs to speak in Philadelphia

President Joe Biden stumbled up the stairs on his way to give an energy speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Friday. The speech focused on the announcement of seven new hydrogen hubs and touted the “success” of his Bidenomics agenda.

The president appeared to lose his balance briefly when walking up a small set of stairs, but he caught himself on the railing. The moment is one in a series of falls and stumbles that the elderly president has had since taking office in 2021, and it’s the third this year.

Recently, Biden slipped while coming off of Air Force One. He also fell after tripping on a sandbag at the Coast Guard Academy graduation this past spring.

Friday’s stumble also comes after he held a meeting with the American families who have members who are still missing in Israel. The administration believes less than a handful of the 14 missing Americans have been taken captive by the terrorist organization Hamas.

The energy event comes as the president runs for reelection in 2024 despite fears about his mental acuity and age. Biden touted his administration’s energy policies and the effects of his Bidenomics agenda at the event. He also touted the creation of seven new hydrogen hubs that will be focused on replacing fossil fuels with hydrogen and are part of his green energy plan to slow down climate change.

There were 23 finalists when it came to where those new hubs would be located, but seven states were selected. However, the seven bases have projects that will span across 16 states. Those projects will be based in California, Washington, Texas, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Illinois.
