Joe Rogan’s first comedy special in six years coming to Netflix – Washington Examiner

Comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan is debuting a new comedy special on Netflix next month, which will be his first in over half a decade.

This new special, titled Burn the Boats, will stream live on Aug. 3 at 10 p.m. ET, from the Majestic Theater in San Antonio, Texas. The special will be directed by Anthony Giordano, who previously filmed four of Rogan’s comedy specials, including his most recent one, Strange Times, in 2018.

“Don’t get mad at me; you know why you came here!” Rogan says in the special’s trailer. “Whoo, feel that! That’s some ride-home arguments in the air! Jokes folks, just jokes.”

Rogan has also advertised his new special on his X account, writing that he’s “very pumped” for it.

Rogan is best known for hosting his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, on Spotify, where he signed a new multiyear deal estimated to be worth over $250 million. X owner Elon Musk, who has appeared on his podcast a few times, reacted to Rogan’s comedy special announcement with a simple comment reading, “Cool.”

Netflix is most known for its streaming offerings, though the platform has begun to dip its toes into streaming live events, including the “Selective Outrage” comedy special from Chris Rock last year. Netflix is also set to air a live fight between boxer Mike Tyson and Jake Paul on Nov. 15.
