John Fetterman greets protesters outside his home by waving Israeli flag

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) met protesters outside his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania, with an Israeli flag as they chanted against his support for the country.

“Fetterman, Fetterman, you can’t hide,” protesters chanted while waving Palestinian flags. “You’re supporting genocide.”

The first-term senator received the chants by getting on the roof of his home to wave an Israeli flag back at them. Video of the interaction spread on X afterward.

During other protests outside the U.S. Capitol, Fetterman has been seen waving a miniature Israeli flag in the face of protesters demonstrating their support for the people in Gaza. Fetterman has been a strong supporter of Israel and has clashed with members of his party due to his support for the nation since Hamas launched its attack more than 100 days ago. At Fetterman’s office in the Capitol, he displays the photo of every hostage taken during the attack.

When South Africa brought a case before the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of carrying out genocide in Gaza, Fetterman responded by suggesting the country should “sit this one out,” pointing to continuing racial tensions in the country.

“South Africa should instead focus on the spiraling humanitarian crises on its own continent — like Sudan, where more than 7 million people have been displaced with widespread atrocities,” Fetterman said.

The pictures of hostages will remain in Fetterman’s office, according to the senator, until they are all returned. Hamas is still harboring an estimated 107 hostages after 110 hostages were released last year.
