Johnson holds press briefing during government shutdown

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is holding a press conference with Republican leaders on the second day of the government shutdown.

The briefing is set to start at 10 a.m.

They are expected to address the shutdown, which was triggered on Wednesday after Republicans and Democrats failed to come to an agreement that would continue funding the government.
