Jordan Peterson rebukes Democrats for ‘classic’ manipulation ahead of election – Washington Examiner

Psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson argued that the Democratic Party is manipulating the public with its rebrand and that of Vice President Kamala Harris, the party’s 2024 presidential candidate.

Peterson explained that the party has spent years “constantly prodding and poking” topics related to culture wars and racial division with their policies. Now that Harris has stepped in to fill President Joe Biden’s role as the party’s 2024 presidential candidate, Peterson argued the party is now doing an about-face on pushing these topics and has instead been focused on “the important issues all along,” such as the economy and healthcare.

“And that’s classic cluster-being manipulative behavior,” Peterson said on Fox News’s One Nation with Brian Kilmeade. “And if we think that this new messaging on the part of a candidate who’s using nothing but image to promote her views reflects a deeper reality, then we’re diluted beyond comprehension. It’s not like the Democrats have switched their colors suddenly, and it’s not like all the people who pushed those DEI ideas and these equity issues have disappeared.”

In the past four weeks since Biden bowed out of his 2024 reelection bid, Harris has reversed her views on various topics, including fracking, saying she no longer wants to ban it. She has also now expressed a desire to secure the southern border, a major issue Republican lawmakers have pushed for years.

In regards to this reversal, Peterson contended that the Democratic Party has been able to accomplish “a pretty successful rebrand” of Harris. He added that being able to manipulate the public on a large scale is “a very deep skill,” and that the public is seeing this at an “unparalleled” manner.

“So yes, it’s a surprise,” Peterson said. “The depth of deception involved here is so profound and happening in so many ways simultaneously that it’s difficult for anyone who isn’t cynical right to the bone to even admit to perceiving. And no one’s talking about other issues, it’s like ‘so Biden was incompetent to run as a candidate, so we slotted someone else in who had no support whatsoever publicly, yet he’s still president,’ and that’s all of a sudden OK. I don’t understand it at all.”

Recently released polling data has found that Harris has a slight lead over former President Donald Trump by four percentage points, with Harris receiving 49% against Trump’s 45%. The data was conducted from Aug. 9 through 13, and had a margin of error of 2 percentage points.

Trump, for his part, is not fazed by now running against Harris, stating during a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday that “she’ll be easier” to beat in the election than Biden. He also stated that he is looking forward to debating her, with the next debate scheduled for Sept. 10.
