José Antonio Kast Triumphs in Chile with 58% of the Vote; Boric Congratulates Conservative Leader in Historic Victory Restoring Order and Traditional Values
In the presidential runoff, José Antonio Kast of the Republican Party won a decisive 58% of valid votes, compared to 41% for the left-wing candidate Jeannette Jara.
This result is a great step forward in matters of policies on order, security, and family defense, reaffirming the conservative values that many Chileans felt had been threatened for decades by progressive governments.
The election reflected public concern over safety, crime, irregular immigration, and the preservation of social order. Kast, known for his tough stance on crime and strict immigration policies, was able to channel the sentiments of a population weary of progressive inefficiency and policies that have weakened the legitimate authority of the state.
The streets of Santiago and other cities celebrated the victory with national flags and honking horns, a spontaneous expression of popular support for the restoration of order and tradition.
In keeping with republican tradition, outgoing President Gabriel Boric made an official call to the president-elect to congratulate him on his victory.
Boric acknowledged the clarity of the win and emphasized the responsibility that comes with leading a diverse and demanding country.
Kast responded with gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening institutions, ensuring public safety, and protecting the family and social values that have sustained Chile for generations.
This gesture by Boric confirms the strength of Chilean institutions and the reliability of an electoral system, even when the results favor the opposition.
The outgoing administration, which faced criticism for its handling of crime and insecurity, thus demonstrates respect for political stability and an orderly transition of power.
My good friend José Antonio Kast, an honorary Chicago Boy, wins entrance to the runoff of december 14 and leads, by far, the polls to become the next President. A huge triumph for liberty and the free market model.
Welcome Back, Chile.

Kast’s victory demonstrates to citizens tired of the left, in search of leaders who prioritize security, order, and the family.
Kast’s immediate goals will be to reduce crime, strengthen law enforcement, and review immigration policies to ensure they align with national interests.
Although Kast takes office with a fragmented parliament, his margin of victory—over 16 percentage points—gives him a clear mandate to advance policies centered on respect for the law, legitimate authority, and the defense of traditional values.
Citizens have chosen to reward responsibility and a forward-looking vision that protects families, rejecting the progressive agenda that for years has promoted divisions and weakened social cohesion.
