Ken Jennings calls to ‘prosecute the former regime’ in 2028

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings suggested he would vote for the 2028 candidate who will prosecute the Trump administration.

“The ‘prosecute the former regime at every level’ candidate has my vote in 2028,” Jennings wrote Wednesday on Bluesky.

This post comes after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer-involved shooting in Minneapolis. An ICE agent shot and killed a woman while she was behind the wheel of her car and traveling in the middle of an ICE operation. Jennings implied that the shooting prompted his initial critical post and issued another post shortly after.

“It’s been a dark week, but I just saw someone reply to an ‘Abolish ICE’ post with a scoldy Bluesky ‘Uh, try abolish DHS’ and that joy will sustain me for a little while,” Jennings wrote on Bluesky.

Jennings has hosted Jeopardy! since 2020. At the time, Jennings had to apologize for posting “unartful and insensitive things” on the platform then known as Twitter. Among the scandalous posts was a now-deleted tweet that he sent in 2014 that read, “Nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair.” While Jennings never publicly retracted the comment, he did say he had apologized to those who were offended privately.

While Jennings is still active on X, he often makes more political posts on BlueSky. Jack Dorsey launched BlueSky in February 2023 after Tesla CEO Elon Musk bought Dorsey’s original platform, Twitter, now known as X.

Jennings succeeded Alex Trebek as host of the game show. Trebek retired from the show in October 2020, days before he died from cancer.

White House spokesman Steven Cheung criticized Jennings in response to his endorsement comments, saying he prefers Trebek.

Jeopardy! has gone to absolute s*** since this loser took over as host,” Cheung said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “He’s certainly no Alex Trebek.”

Others online echoed Cheung’s sentiment. Newsmax anchor Tom Basile called for Jeopardy! to fire Jennings.

“What an idiot,” Basile wrote Thursday on X. “You can have your own opinions, but don’t think everyone should hear them. Now @Jeopardy needs to fire this guy and send him back to obscurity. Totally irresponsible use of his platform. #FireKenJennings.”

TOM HOMAN SLAMS LAWMAKERS’ ‘RECKLESS’ REACTIONS TO ICE SHOOTING

“Another dumbass,” talk show host Mike Gallagher wrote Thursday on X. “Because I’m sure there aren’t any Trump supporters who watch ‘Jeopardy!,’ right?”

The Washington Examiner has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for comment.
