Kevin Costner’s Lawyer Absolutely Destroys His Estranged Wife’s Latest Demands

Kevin Costner’s attorney absolutely ripped apart his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, over her new demands for money, TMZ reported Tuesday.

Baumgartner has apparently asked a judge to make Costner pay $885,000 to argue a single issue in their divorce proceedings, TMZ reported. The one issue is apparently the prenup. In her response, Laura Wasser, Costner’s attorney, filed what TMZ called a “blistering response” to the request, calling it “nothing short of outrageous.”

While the ins-and-outs of the legalese are complicated, Baumgartner is essentially seeking to have a mini-trial over one aspect of their prenup: whether the waiver of spousal support is enforceable.

Baumgartner’s lawyers say it will take $885,000 to make their case in court, and Costner should be footing the bill. But Wasser noted that, with their current rates, that would mean his estranged wife’s legal team would have to conduct 1,106 hours of work to justify their ridiculous pricing.

Baumgartner’s request is also somewhat pointless, as a judge has already said the prenup is enforceable. (RELATED: Stunning Updates In ‘Yellowstone’ Off-Screen Saga Will Have Fans Stressed As Heck)

This is the latest of many legal battles Baumgartner has lost throughout the divorce, which she filed for back in May. She initially asked for $248,000 per month in child support. She was awarded $63,000. Costner has also already paid $300,000 in Baumgartner’s legal fees.

If she continues to challenge their prenup and loses her battle in court, she’ll owe her soon-to-be ex-husband more than $1,000,000, as well as his legal fees.
