Curb Your Enthusiasm announced its final season on Thursday.

The show, famous for being filmed without a script but a skeletal outline, is HBO’s longest-running program since it released its 11th season. This final and 12th season will premiere on Feb. 4, with each of its 10 episodes coming out weekly on Sunday.

Creator and main actor Larry David began the series in 2000. Over a decade later, the show took a six-year hiatus and resumed production in 2017. Previously, David created the comedy sitcom Seinfeld starring comedian Jerry Seinfeld, which lasted for nine seasons. David also performed as a stand-up comedian.

“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be — the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” David said in a statement. “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”

David’s on-screen wife is actress Cheryl Hines, who is married to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — a candidate in the middle of a presidential campaign. Kennedy is running as an independent candidate after switching from the Democratic Party.

HBO Max has seen the end of its other hit series, Succession, Titans, and Doom Patrol, this year as well. Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content Casey Bloys issued a statement lamenting the end of Curb Your Enthusiasm on Thursday.

“It’s hard to say farewell to such a ground-breaking, brilliantly funny and iconic series like Curb Your Enthusiasm, which has left its mark across television and the comedy genre,” Bloys said. “Working alongside Larry David and [executive producer] Jeff Schaffer as well as all of the comedic masterminds that comprise our producers, cast and crew has been a joy that I will always treasure.”

David, 76, has won two prime-time Emmys for Curb Your Enthusiasm. The series did not receive any nominations for the upcoming 75th Emmy Awards but still stands a chance for next year.
